Perhaps it was my broken camera that woke me at 4am today, knowing that I'd have to find some way to justify buying a new one but as I'd buttered up my wife pretty well over the last few days with any number of pathetic sighs, general sadnesses, listlessness, making my own late night peanut butter sandwiches, eating my Marmite crisps in my room so that the smell didn't revolt her and offering to wash up the airfryer, I was sure I could pull it off !
"Don't even think of going until you've phoned them to make sure that they have the exact camera you think you saw there but I'm telling you this you didn't because why would PC World offer such a huge discount without advertising it on the internet oh no is an 0348 number free and use my phone not yours god why don't these people have a phone number right let me check again give me that number TZ100 well it says £539 in Amateur Photographer so how come you say you saw it for £249 you were obviously looking at a completely different model and anyway if it was the model you were looking at three days ago the offer won't still be on and you will have wasted six miles of diesel so just forget it !"

It is actually impossible to talk to anyone at Currys PC World so I defiantly went and my camera WAS there and it WAS discounted and I DID buy it !
Keeping my face looking defeated once I got home has always been a problem when lying to my wife as my body goes into weird spasms as I fight to keep my face downcast !
"Well you were right ! What a waste of time and I can only apologise for not listening to you in the first place !" I groaned world wearily as she smirked in triumph !
"So what do you have to say now eh ? £249 for a TZ100, you must have imagined it ! Now stop sulking and get the front bush trimmed !"
It was at that point that happiness broke through and I produced my new toy !
"You are an arse !" She said with half an eye on the Scrabble box as she prepared herself for her next overwhelming victory !
